Pūpūkea Beach Park Master Plan
A long-awaited master plan by the City and County of Honolulu for Pupukea Beach Park is now in draft for public comment due by January 31st.
More information about the plan may be found on the web at:
This plan discusses potential future improvements by the City for the park on the shoreline area, from Three Tables to Sharks Cove, between the highway and the ocean.
Changes being considered include: parking, pullouts, bathrooms, erosion/pathways, landscaping, and educational signage.
Malama Pupukea-Waimea worked with City Council Chair Ernie Martin's office and outgoing Mayor Peter Carlisle to ensure that the master plan process was finally initiated last year. The planning firm hired to do the plan, Townscape Inc., has extensive experience working with community planning on the North Shore, and has been receiving comments through a Community Advisory Group, which includes MPW.
We encourage all community members to read the document and participate!
